The Audi TT is a two-door sports car manufactured by the Volkswagen Group since 1998. The car is assembled at the Audi plant in Hungary. The Audi TT was designed in California in the United States in 1994 and introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show of 1995. The TT was the world's first car with a dual clutch transmission for a right-hand drive., in fact it became the world's first road car with a dual clutch transmissaion. Due to the cooperation with Volkswagen, the Audi TT, like the Audi A4, has a lot in common with certain types of Volkswagen. The cooperation is shown for example in the powertrain and the independent front suspension thanks to the use of MacPherson struts.
The Audi TT was named after the NSU's motor racing tradition on the Isle of Man. It was in fact named after the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy.
